Job Title: MILLWORK SPRAYER

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Classification: hourly

Summary/Objective: The Millwork Sprayer is accountable for the safe and efficient finishing, spraying of

lacquer, sealer, and paints onto millwork pieces. Assigned work will be completed according to work

directives, client specifications and company quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

• Create, monitor and maintain a well kept, organized and safe work environment while

promoting, complying with and enforcing adherence to health and safety rules, regulations,

procedures and policies

• Check all material for compliancy to quality, damage, defects or debris prior to spraying and

prior to advancing it in the process

• Fill and smooth cracks or depressions, remove marks and imperfections using plastic or wood

putty, sandpaper, pumice stone, steel wool, and solvents

• Set up, program (as required), operate and maintain various sprayers and paint booths using

proper techniques

• Brush, spray or hand-apply finishing ingredients such as primer, paint, oil, stain, or wax onto and

into wood pieces

• Spray lacquer, sealer and paints on millwork pieces evenly using power tools and equipment

• Remove accessories prior to finishing, and mask areas that should not be exposed to the

finishing process or substances

• Remove excess finishing substances, using cloths soaked in appropriate solvents

• Inspect and ensure machines and equipment are running optimally including cleanliness and

lock points

• Read and precisely follow specifications and work orders to mix and apply paints, lacquers and

sealers

• Assess each job to make the most efficient use of resources (time, materials, equipment,

manpower)

• Ensure sufficient inventory and select correct product as per work orders

• Handle and organize output to maximize efficiency and minimize processing errors and damage

• Adhere to cleaning and maintenance protocols for tools, equipment and working areas

• Inform supervisors of any repairs required or faults to tools, equipment and working areas

• Train lesser skilled employees as directed

• Assist in various manufacturing areas as needed

• Ensure and constantly improve the safety, morale, quality and profitability of our operations

through the ongoing implementation of effective methods and strategies

• Communicate and uphold company policies and procedures

Requirements (education/certifications/licences/passport/clean drivers abstract):

• Ability to accurately read, interpret and follow precise specifications and safety precautions

• Hands-on experience in a millwork finishing environment would be an asset

• Familiarity with WHMIS and associated safety standards

• Familiarity with computerized equipment would be an asset

Working Conditions: All applicable areas within the millwork facility; machine operation

Travel Requirements: Travel is not associated with this position
