Tangent is a group of 40 multidisciplinary design engineers and professionals in the field of product/project management, mechanical engineering, electrical/electronics engineering, firmware/software, and industrial design.
Role Description:
Tangent is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our growing team. A mechanical engineering technologist at Tangent may work independently or provide technical support and services in the design, development, testing, manufacturing and operation of mechanical and electronic/embedded equipment and systems. Tangent is an execution first organization that does move at a pretty fast pace. The ideal candidate will be able to support Tangent operations in a number of ways. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a high degree of collaboration and innovation.
Responsibilities:
- Manufacture/assemble prototypes and commercial products as required.
- Supply chain support.
- Test and measurement activities as required.
- Actively improve Tangent's ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 quality management system.
- Assist with maintenance and repairs including the troubleshooting of hardware and potentially firmware problems.
- Lead investigations on non-conformant equipment.
- Provide feedback to the hardware development team and/or design solutions for issues discovered through equipment testing and use.
Requirements:
- Experience in hands on assembly of mechanical/electronics assemblies.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and/or mechanical assembly.
- Relevant Technology Degree or Diploma is required.
- Association of Science & Engineering Technology Professionals of Alberta (ASET) certification in good standing.
- Strong attention to detail is required.
- Experience with Solidworks or similar 3D CAD design software is an asset.
- Experience with equipment used in hazardous locations or medical technology is considered an asset.

Salary: $44,617.00-$79,734.00 per year
