Licensed Practical Nurse Temporary Contract - Travelling

Role Description:

We have several clients in Rural Alberta who are currently looking to employ a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for short term relief contracts in Seniors Living Facilities. Contracts vary in length from 1 week to 6 months in duration.

Key role responsibilities:

• Provide resident-focused care in a home-like environment
• Provide direct care by assessing resident health needs
• Monitor residents with complex medical needs
• Direct the work of HCA's based on resident and site needs
• Document patient care observations and activities according to professional standards and procedures
• Thoroughly educate and explain procedures to residents and family members and assists them in coping with illness
• Practice to their full range of competence within applicable legislation, regulations, bylaws and employer policies

Required Skills:

• Graduate from a recognized LPN Program
• Current membership in good standing with CLPNA
• CPR/BCLS for healthcare provider required
• Current and clear vulnerable sector criminal record check
• Current and up to date immunization records
• Leadership experience would be an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to person-centered care
• Ability to problem solve through critical thinking
• Enthusiastic attitude and energy to provide excellent care and serv
