Job overview

The Technical Artist will provide support to the animation department. Bringing strong Maya knowledge, he will work closely with the artists to offer immediate and direct support. He will often communicate with the rigging department and the TDs. He will report to the Animation Supervisor to discuss and apply pipeline processes and fix the recurrent problems that may occur.

Responsibilities

• Debug scenes.
• Define a proper workflow and reinforce best practices.
• Needs to help implement good usage of the rigs that will be pipeline friendly and with the focus of providing clean scenes to the downstream departments.
• Help document these best practices through our internal wiki.
• Technical animators support on the floor (Sanity Check, Publishing, Tools, Cleaning up a scene)
• Confo Anim Reviews
• Rigging Check and follow up with RIG Department
• Follow up on tickets with the TD team
• Follow up with CFX
• Follow up with Lighting
• Tools development follow up with DEV
• Hero Prop meetings

• Good knowledge and sensibility to animation;
• Have a good understanding of Rigging and a solid technical foundation;
• Strong knowledge of 3D and the production workflow of an animated feature;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Knowledge of Maya is essential;
• English is an asset.

• Hybrid position (required to be present at the studio 3 days a week)
