Smythe LLP is looking for a Senior Manager to join our public company audit group, based in downtown Vancouver. As a member of the Assurance Group, you will work directly with our clients and partners to deliver high-quality assurance and related services.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage accounting, assurance and advisory engagements for publicly listed clients
- Detailed review of audit files including financial statements and accompanying notes prepared in accordance with IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP
- Support public company clients with continuous disclosure requirements
- Plan and lead teams, ensuring expectations are set and clearly communicated
- Build and strengthen client relationships
- Drive the attainment of team objectives
- Coach, guide, mentor and train our developing professionals
- Promote a culture of collaboration, progressiveness, excellence, empowerment and rewarding
Requirements
- Canadian CPA designation or equivalent, with 7-8 years of professional accounting experience. Should have served at least two years as a manager specializing in publicly listed companies
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, ASPE and US GAAP
- Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor multiple, ongoing and complex projects
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently, multitask and guide team members
- Manage engagement economics including fee discussions, time analysis and billings
- Strong coaching and people-development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build strong and meaningful connections based on trust and respect with colleagues and clients
- A desire to learn and adapt to a challenging and progressive environment.
