As a Sr. Analytics Engineer you will leverage your strong analytical and technical knowledge and your ability to translate strategic business needs into robust and replicable data modeling solutions. You will have the opportunity support all Analytics teams by being a reliable source of all questions related to data access and data modeling for insights enablement. You'll work towards increasing the data team's knowledge base to ensure continuous growth and improvement. You will serve as a stakeholder to our Business Intelligence, Data Engineering and Software Engineering teams by providing best practices and technical leadership about data collection strategy, data modeling techniques, and beacon design.
You'll get the opportunity to:
- Develop accurate, well documented, flexible, performant and scalable data models that can be used as a single source of truth across the entire organization to generate insights and make informed decisions.
- Understand Enterprise Data Analytics Strategy and implement the business logic to create data models that reflect the business entities
- Create data models with the approach of single source of truth or multiple versions of truth depending on use case
- Developing and enhancing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for the team
- Ensure the data models developed are high quality, scalable, flexible and have accurate data
- Collaborate with Embedded Analytics, Data Engineering and Software Development Teams to ensure data collection and beacon design processes are properly managed against Enterprise Data Strategy
- Ensure all collected data is modeled properly to avoid duplicates and protect the integrity of single source of truth approach
- Input into Analytics and Self-serve roadmap based on industry best practices and emerging trends
- Collaborate with data engineering and consult on data warehousing strategy and roadmap
- Identifying and reducing technical debt by contributing solutions and building business value arguments
- Have a deep understanding of purpose and structure of collected raw data (beacons), data models & libraries created
- Support all Analytics groups by providing assistance and knowledge about data sources, structures and quality as well as methodologies and best practices to extract & analyze data from different sources
- Exchange best practices & lessons learned with the data organization to increase the knowledge of other team members
What you'll need to bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree with major in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a data engineering or analytics engineering role or similar
- 5+ years of experience building Data Models using transformations tools, ie. dbt
- 5+ years of programming experience using Python, SQL, Scala etc
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, disseminate and visualize significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of and experience with BI tools (Tableau, Periscope, Domo, Amplitude, etc.), and databases (SQL, etc.)
- Proven skills in leading complex projects in ambiguity and building scalable solutions
- High growth expectations for yourself and your team, and a willingness to push yourself and your team to achieve them
- Experience with monitoring data quality, job execution times, job success/failure and remediation as well as query performance.
- A ton of passion about building top notch analytics engineering solutions for various use cases.
