Fresh City is an award-winning urban farm and omni-channel retailer. Founder-led, we’re on a mission to help people better the world through their food choices. More than one decade after we first began, our belief in that is even stronger. Every day, we deliver organic produce, chef-inspired and made from scratch prepared foods, bespoke meats and more to thousands of Greater Toronto Area families. We also farm in Downsview Park, where we also operate a farmer incubator program.

In 2018, Fresh City acquired Mabel’s Bakery, a popular bakery in Toronto producing artisan breads and pastries, and shortly after acquired The Healthy Butcher, a pioneer in organic and 100% Grassfed beef, in 2019. In 2022, subscription-based organic produce and grocery delivery company Mama Earth Organics was added to the lineup of brands making Fresh City the largest organic online retailer in Ontario.

With seven retail locations and home delivery across the GTA between our four brands, the Fresh City family of brands continues to bring farmers, makers and eaters together to deliver a food experience that respects our bodies, our planet, and our shared tomorrow.

We are hiring a full-time Runner at our 19 Waterman Avenue (East York) location!

What you'll be doing:

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle
• Pick, pack and load orders for delivery
• Operate company van or light truck to delivery goods and merchandise to retail stores
• Follow established route and delivery schedules
• Unload order from the company vehicle and deliver to designated areas in stores
• Pick up and load returning products from stores and return to the warehouse
• Communicate with the store and relay any product requisitions to the warehouse
• Delivering orders on time, accurate, and complete.
• Establishes and maintains good relations with customers.
• Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage and fuel costs and report any incidents or problems
• Discard expired products in appropriate manner at warehouse
• Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle
• Pick up product orders from suppliers for the company and other related duties as required.

What you're bringing to the table:

• Strong work ethic
• Able to work independently
• Able to handle fast-paced schedule
• Detail oriented
• Problem-solving skills
• Good communication
• Flexible to drive and work in the warehouse.
• Comfortable with technology (routing software, email, calls, texts, etc.)
• Clean driver's abstract
• Driving experience (preferably in the GTA)
• Own a smartphone

Certification/Licensing Requirements:

• Valid 'G' class Ontario driver's license and insurance

Physical Requirements

• Warehouse, retail store, such as lifting 50lbs
