Recovery Care Worker Job at Tsow-Tun Le Lum Society

Position Summary:
- This position reports to the House Manager.
- Hours of work are 12:00 AM (midnight) to 8:00 AM.
- Responsible for general supervision, security, and safety of residents and building.
- Janitorial work such as housekeeping and laundry.
- This position pays $22+ per hour
- Number of hours varies – from 0-40 hours/week
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Have an intimate familiarity with Indigenous culture, tradition, and ceremony.
- High school education.
- Knowledge and experience in general housekeeping and maintenance.
- Knowledge or training in addiction and trauma; and their treatment.
- Good physical health.
- Ability to communicate well, be team-oriented, and act respectfully.
- Class 4 driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
- Current Criminal Record Check (less than 6 months).
Additional Requirements:
- Valid First Aid certificate or willing to attend First Aid training.
- TTLL’s hiring policy is for all employees to have abstinence from alcohol and drugs for a period of two (2) years prior to hire date; and willingness to role model and maintain an abstinent lifestyle while employed by Tsow-Tun Le Lum (abstinence includes no social drinking or use of marijuana other cannabis products).
- In meeting the objectives and philosophies of the Society, preference will be given to qualified individuals of Indigenous Ancestry in accordance with Section 42 of the BC Human Rights Code.
