The Purchasing Data Analyst is a well-organized individual who pays very close attention to detail, and has a thorough understanding of numerical analysis, as well as database management. The Purchasing Data Analyst is a key member of the Sunrise Farms corporate purchasing team, providing a variety of data analysis and preparing reports on purchasing, spend analysis, supplier performance, etc utilizing Excel, and Power BI tools. This person is a gatekeeper, entering and monitoring contract pricing in the company’s Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) software and works very closely with the Corporate Director of Purchasing
Responsibilities:
- Data stewardship for enterprise maintenance management system (system) ; including classification structures, records, and standards for the entry of data for ingredients, packaging, materials, equipment, services and contracts.
- Maintains product database for accuracy, data integrity, and approved manufacturer details.
- Conducts research to develop and maintain comprehensive standard naming descriptions for each raw material and assigns a material identification number to each.
- Develop and maintain reports related to market unit pricing, materials management, master data request, KPI for supply chain management, contract management, and governance
- Maintains procedures and training materials to ensure Purchase Order compliance. Develops reports on PO compliance to help guide further training conversations.
- Develops and audits data standards for goods, services, and contract management records, to ensure quality data.
- Develops Standard Operating Procedure for the addition, deletion, and change management process for all raw materials.
- Develops and maintains a catalogue of goods and services. Develops communication tools to notify clients of new product numbers.
- Analyses product procurement records, identifies repeat products and creates new product IDs. This includes developing a process and method for identifying and determining the best approach to manage materials such as, stock, non-stock, or alternate materials.
- Prepares Supplier Performance spend analysis reports, highlighting key performance indicators of contracts, volume/forecasting of services and provides the information to purchasing team to assist in monitoring risks, costs and performance. Develops supplier key performance indicator reports for quarterly business meetings.
- Develops and maintains system documentation including standard operating procedures and prepares amendments or additions, as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 2-4 years of data analytics experience.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Strong financial & budgeting knowledge.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze data for effective decision-making.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Sharepoint, Power BI tools, and ERP database software
