This position is responsible for ensuring the stability, maintenance, and growth of enterprise applications used by YRDSB schools, developing and maintaining internal stakeholders Service Level Agreement, and maintaining regular communication with stakeholders. Review stakeholder requests and translate them into the technical specification, leveling work effort and prioritizing requests. Monitor and track, gather metrics of each application. Participate in school systems related projects as a technical subject matter expert and leads the transition from project to regular operational support.
POSITION SUMMARY:
In compliance with Board policies and procedures, responsible for gathering, identifying and analyzing requirements to successfully plan and implement customized and integrated Board application requirements, ensuring successful implementation of long term projects and ongoing maintenance and support and provide technical advice to Board clients and stakeholders.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
To define and analyze user requirements by meeting with users, creating functional specifications/documentation and relaying the information to other Information Technology Services staff.
To plan future enterprise solutions consistent with the Board’s vision.
To design technical solutions, application development and implementation strategies.
To support existing applications through team direction and supervision, communication to users, direct staff on production problems, manage changes to applications and crisis management.
To hire, supervise, conduct employee performance appraisals and to participate in the grievance and disciplinary process as required.
To manage, develop, plan, track and coordinate projects as required, including proactively managing change in project scope, identifying potential crisis and devising contingency plans.
To design technical solutions including researching for best practices, evaluating software solutions, participate in development of architecture and infrastructure and disaster recovery plan.
To develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation and presentation including coordinating sign-off and direction on Change Requests associated with cost and development.
To attend and participate on various working groups and committees as required.
To be responsible for keeping up to date with current and new prevalent computer technologies and trends.
To perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
A four year university degree in computer science or a related discipline is required.
Minimum five years full application development or related experience is required.
Effective verbal and written communication, supervisory, interpersonal, project management, problem solving, computer programming and database management skills are required.
Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and groups both within and outside the Board is required.
