Job Summary
Work as part of the Platform Development group to develop and enhance leading edge and award winning applications and solutions within the Microsoft Azure Cloud platform in all aspects including design, testing, peer reviews and more.
Job Description
Key Accountabilities:
  • Assist in the definition and elaboration of product requirements.
  • Design, develop, test and deploy software features and components.
  • Support and maintain software products and platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause of bugs and defect.
  • Conduct research and proof-of-concepts relevant to the position.
  • Document technical specifications and user guides.
  • Collaborate and work with team members, project teams and other groups across NAV CANADA.
  • Follow defined SDLC and other processes.
Job Requirements
Education:
  • Completion of a secondary school diploma
  • Graduated from a recognized university/college with a degree/certification in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Systems, Math, Engineering or an acceptable combination of education, related experience and training
Experience:
  • Experience developing full applications with the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Experience with Visual Studio and/or VS Code.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Experience developing web applications.
  • Experience debugging and refactoring web applications.
  • Experience with database technologies and development.
Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of testing practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of web development concepts.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and tools.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies and practices.
  • Knowledge of object oriented programming.
  • Knowledge of networking and security concepts.
Abilities:
  • Ability to manage their own tasks and schedules.
  • Ability to analyse and propose viable solutions to problems.
  • Ability to provide appropriate technical designs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to effectively participate and collaborate on projects.
  • Ability to assist with quality control of software products and components

Working conditions:
  • This position is based at the Ottawa TSC but may be eligible for a flexible work arrangement.
