Abilities to Work is a not-for-profit organization with three locations in the GTA - Brampton, Mississauga, and Orangeville. We provide education, training, and employment opportunities for marginalized groups, specifically, persons with a self-disclosed disability. We also educate employers on accessibility and inclusive workplace practices.

The Women in Trades Supported Employment Program aims to support women with disabilities and LGBTQ2+ community in securing work experiences and employment opportunities within the skilled trades. Focus will be on empowering women and LGBTQ2+ community who face higher barriers of entry and enhance pathways into meaningful and gainful employment by encouraging partnerships across the economy and developing training and resources for employers to increase the participation and retention of women in the skilled trades.

We are seeking Job Developers who will be collaborating with employers to job match our clients with jobs in the skilled trades.

Lived experience, technical expertise and theoretical knowledge to the project that ensures consideration for LGBTQ2+ communities within the greater Toronto area.

Number of positions: 1 full time positions with competitive salary, benefits, travel expenses.

Related Experience:

  • Utilize up to date labour market expertise to identify potential employers in the skilled trades;
  • Initiate and maintain contact with employers to identify potential employment opportunities by various methods including in-person, phone, email, social media, etc. and to build productive relationships between employers and ATW;
  • Meet assigned placement targets, KPI’s and performance metrics on a monthly basis;
  • Build detailed knowledge of employers regarding their activities, structure, culture, human resources needs, recruitment processes, management, etc. and add the information to the organization CRM system;
  • Develop and implement on-the-job accommodation training plans and job coaching strategies;
  • Provide job coaching to clients as needed;
  • Promote ATW clients and demonstrate business benefit of hiring persons with disabilities;
  • Provide information about ATW programs and services to employers to support enhanced knowledge of accessibility in employment;
  • Identify, where applicable, employers and opportunities that may qualify for subsidies and other funded incentives.
  • Be able to work a hybrid model; two days at the Mississauga office, and 3 days from home. Company laptop provided.

Qualifications:

· Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business or other related discipline; or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience;

· Job Development training and or certification is considered an asset;

· Proven results; Target focused;

· Experience with Microsoft Office 365; Share Point, Excel, Teams, and Zoom

· Experience with CaMS, CaseFlo is considered an asset;

· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel within the GTA.
