Kichton Contracting Ltd. is looking for experienced, full time Heavy Equipment Operators for our local Lloydminster team. We are looking for outgoing, adaptable individuals looking to learn and grow within our team and industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment as it applies to loading trucks, rough grading, cut to fill, trenching, ditching, sloping, and banking, material handling, stock piling, etc.
• Interpret grade stakes
• Perform pre & post trip equipment inspection following standardized checklist
• Perform work in a safe manner in accordance with Kichton Contracting Ltd.’s safe work practices, policies, procedures and local legislative requirements
• Identify all hazards and potential hazards to site supervision
• Report all incidents, near misses and equipment damage to site supervision
• Assist with other duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong interpersonal skills, and an ability to participate positively in an engaging culture
• Must be able to organize and plan tasks, with an ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Must be dependable
• Effective attention to detail and high degree of accuracy
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to track and breakout time spent on tasks throughout the day and report to site supervision
• Knowledge of civil and/or underground infrastructure
• Must possess and effectively operate a smart phone as it relates to daily FLHA & timesheet completion

Required Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age
• Minimum of 2 years of previous experience working as a Heavy Equipment Operator
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with reliable transportation
• Valid CSTS-2020, H2S, and First Aid
• Valid Ground Disturbance II certification

Working Conditions:
