The Port Albemi Association for Community Living (PAACL) is a registered non-profit society that provides quality programs and services for individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities who require extra support to participate as valued citizens in their community.

Position Overview

PAACL is inviting applications for an Executive Assistant and Payroll Administrator. This is an
Excluded, regular part time position 28 hours/week. This position offers a competitive salary with a superior benefit package.

As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining all employee payroll records, process benefit reconciliations. You will bring your eye for detail to rectify errors, verifying data and identify any irregularities or inefficiencies. You will Ensures the programming of external payroll system with changes to wages, benefit rates, collective agreement rules and general maintenance.

Functions and Tasks

Job Function #1: Payroll System and Benefits

1 Processes employee payroll
2 Approves final submission to payroll system for generation of employee pay.

3 Ensures data base and employee changes are processed.
4 Ensures that all payroll decisions and practices fall within the Collective Agreement and meets all applicable Federal and Provincial laws.

5 Ensures new employees complete required payroll & benefit documents.

6 Reconciles payroll general ledger accounts.
7 Prepares T4's and records of employment in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency

Standards.

Oversees completion of the annual CSSEA survey.

Qualifications

Required:

Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration or Accounting or combination of education and experience.

Experience

Required:

Two years' experience in office management.

Two years benefit plan management and payroll in a unionized environment.
Desired:

Experience working in a not-for-profit environment

Experience working with Governance Boards

Technical Skills

Required:

Minimum typing speed of 50 WPM
Ability to prioritize, negotiate and work with strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

Excellent communication and relationship building skills.

Demonstrated teamwork, leadership and skills

Strong technology skills including advanced expertise in Microsoft Office including Excel and
Word.
