About Our Opportunity
Reporting to the Executive Director, Business Development and Strategic Opportunities, the Director, Strategic Priorities will coordinate and manage strategically important collaborative initiatives for the Department while providing sound advice on complex matters. This entails responsibility for establishing and maintaining processes and procedures to direct strategy development and deliver consistently high quality results. The Director works closely with the Executive Team and frequently briefs the Minister, as well as the Premier periodically.
As a lead coordinator you will manage multi disciplinary teams across government advancing emerging priority opportunities, including offshore renewable energy, green hydrogen and bio energy. You will galvanize intergovernmental cooperation and develop/maintain strong strategic relationships with First Nations, local communities, and industry.
Qualifications and Experience
As the successful candidate, you will have relevant post secondary education as well as several years of progressive experience in a related field. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience will also be considered.
As the Director, you will have initiative, judgment and be comfortable with risk-based decision making. You will think outside the box and have the ability to make solid decisions in a fast-paced environment, with limited time and information. You have exceptional communication (written and verbal), presentation and interpersonal skills as well as strong partnering and relationship building skills.
You must demonstrate competencies leading and engaging a variety of internal and external stakeholders through experience with senior level project and/or program teams. To be successful within this role, you will demonstrate experience with policy, regulatory and/or program development, and possess strong project management skills, with an ability to ensure the smooth planning and effective implementation, coordination, and completion of complex projects. You will have experience supervising staff, including assigning work, in either project or line authority situations and be a confident, proactive, broadminded and engaged team leader.

Pay Grade: EC 14
Salary Range: $4,184.42 - $5,230.52 Bi-Weekly
