Van Bower Construction Services Ltd. is a Construction Management/Survey company based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The principals of the company have over 60 years of design, survey, and construction experience primarily for highway, mining, and infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a Surveyor to join our Burnaby, BC Office.

Responsibilities Reporting to the Project Manager you will:

• Manage and perform field surveys, including construction stakeout, topographic, design, volumetric, and control surveys
• Liaise with Project Manager and client regarding scopes of work
• Accurately record measurements and other data, perform quality control for survey work
• Ensure all equipment is calibrated and maintained as per equipment standards
• Prepare and communicate field notes, sketches, checklists, and digital data in the formats required as per Van Bower Construction Services Specifications

Requirements As the successful candidate you:

• Are a graduate of a recognized post-secondary program related to civil or structural engineering, surveying or geomatics and/or have 1-2 years’ experience in Construction and Engineering surveys
• Can use and understand 3D scanners, GPS and Robotic total station survey instruments
• Have experience with Trimble Access, TBC, and Autodesk AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Have experience in field surveys and vertical construction
• Have knowledge in build construction procedures and techniques
• Have a valid driver’s license and clean abstract
• Have the ability to use and adapt to the latest Trimble survey equipment and software
• Are able to work with minimal supervision
• Are able to work in a fast-paced industrial construction environment
• Reading comprehension: You must be able to understand written documents.
• Mathematics: An aptitude for applying mathematical principles to solve problems is necessary.
• Attention to detail: Accuracy is of the utmost importance. You must also take great care when taking and recording measurements.
• Listening skills: You'll have to understand instructions from others, including architects and project managers.
• Speaking skills: You'll have to communicate information to members of your team and your clients.
• Time management skills: It will be necessary to plan your own time on each job.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
