Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and reconcile credit card transactions and input/update the reservation and accounting system; making sure all clients’ payments are received before departure
- Compare costings accrual in reservation system; check with safari consultants with any discrepancy; process wire payment to suppliers; and input / update the vendor payment into reservation and accounting system Process commission cheques to travel agents on a weekly basis
- Process cheque payments for office G&A / marketing expenses
- Posting weekly airline ticket report into accounting system
- Processing payment for travel insurance and update reservation and accounting system
- Update and setup vendors in Oracle with tax ID; prepare and file annual report Assist month-end close including monthly journal entries
- Record monthly intercompany transactions and reconciliations for all the brands that company has transactions with
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation between Oracle general ledger balances and bank statement balances. Review validity of daily bank transactions.
- Prepare monthly balance sheets for accounts reconciliations
- Reconcile monthly staff expenses reports
- Prepare weekly cash report for submission to parent companies
- Work with auditors during year-end audits
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- College Diploma or University Degree in Accounting preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in Accounting/Book Keeping Proficiency in accounting principles
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook & Oracle Strong sense of time deadlines and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail, well-organized and solution-oriented
