Are you a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a web developer who will be responsible for developing and designing our company websites.

The successful candidate must be proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and have solid knowledge and experience with WordPress. Preference will be given to those with experience in developing WordPress plug-ins and/or programming applications.

Reporting to the President, the ideal candidate must be able to work independently, and have strong attention to detail. The web developer will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining websites and software applications using scripting or authoring languages, management tools, content creation tools and applications. You will develop or validate test routines and schedules to ensure that test cases mimic external interfaces, address all browser and device types, identify and resolve problems, analyse technical requirements and evaluate code to ensure it meets industry standards.

A team player, you will work alongside the marketing team. The successful candidate must have a high degree of independent judgement. Solid verbal and written communication skills in English, together with a strong sense of design is required. Ideally, you have a strong understanding of SEO (ie knowledge of ranking factors and search engine algorithms). Experience in B2B and/or experience working with a technology company is an asset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Web development or related field, or 5 years of relevant experience.
• Solid knowledge and experience in WordPress and/or programming applications.
• Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
• Proficient in MySQL.
• Experience with Linux.
• Knowledge of programming language and technical terminology.
• Able to develop ideas and processes and clearly express them.
• Able to solve complex problems.

This position is 100% remote however the candidate must reside in the GTA area (Toronto, Ontario, Canada). The contract may be extended with a possibility for full-time employment.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Salary: $28.00-$31.00 per hour

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
