Position Title: Truck and Coach Technician (Mechanic) 310-T

Seeking a licensed Truck and Coach technician to work on a variety of heavy trucks as well as heavy operations machinery and equipment at head office in Fort Erie, Ontario.

Areas of Responsibility:

Truck and Coach Technician will be required to repair and/or replace damaged or worn parts on various machinery and test equipment after repairs are complete to ensure proper function and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications. Along with repairing machinery, diagnostic ability and understanding of diagnostic equipment is required to inspect machines and equipment for faults or malfunctions. Knowledge on the use of hoists and hand tools is preferred and may be required to perform repairs. Performance of routine maintenance, such as cleaning and lubrication, is required to ensure machines and equipment function at maximum efficiency. Knowledge and understanding of operations manuals and maintenance of machinery service records is required.

Applicants must have the ability and knowledge to work on a wide variety of heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, bucket trucks, line trucks, hydrovac trucks, etc.

Requirements:

• Clean, lubricate and perform routine preventative maintenance
• Ability to inspect mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems for proper performance and detect faults and malfunctions
• Ability to repair equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets safety and manufacturers' specifications
• Familiarity with parts and components and tools to repair heavy machinery
• Familiarity with electronics and ability to read blueprints or use electronic diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot repairs
• Ability to adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

A salary commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience will be offered to the successful candidate.

Experience:

• Heavy truck construction equipment maintenance/repair: 1 year minimum preferred

Licence:

• Valid G driver’s license in good standing (required)
• 310-T Red Seal (preferred)
• Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic. (preferred)
• AZ or DZ licence (preferred)
