The Broadway Subway Project Corporation (BSPC) is an Acciona-Ghella general partnership to deliver a 5.7 km extension of the Millennium Line, from VCC-Clark Station to Broadway and Arbutus. Once complete, it will provide fast, frequent and convenient service to B.C.’s second largest jobs centre, world-class health services, an emerging innovation and research hub, and growing residential communities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Report to the Tunnel Manager;
- Assist the Tunnel Manager in preparing method statements (MS), safe working procedures and other documents in compliance with design requirements, safety and environment regulations, and in coordination with other project departments involved;
- Supervise TBM excavation parameters in adherence with the design specification and project requirements;
- Monitor the face support pressures, the weighing and volume of the excavated ground, and soil conditioning according to the design requirements;
- Prepare TBM reports and other reports relevant to tunnel works;
- Inform the Tunnel Manager of any variation of the work from the MS or safe working procedure;
- Reviewing the nonconformity files in conjunction with the Tunnel Manager and Quality department to determine their causes and propose corrective actions;
- Assist the Tunnel Manager in coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers;
- Check the ITP implementation;
- Liaise with the QA/QC inspectors with regard to tunnel quality matters
Experience
- Civil Engineer or Geotechnical Engineer;
- Able to use AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Power Point;
- Willing to work on a day shift / night shift rotation;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction projects;
- Possibly with experience in TBM / tunnelling;
- Possibly with experience in QA/QC.
