We are currently recruiting for:

Supply Registered Early Childhood Educator and Teacher Assistant for our Child Care Centres in Richmond Hill and Thornhill.

• Salary for RECE: $24.45/hour plus Wage Enhancement
• Salary for Assistant: $18.75/hour plus Wage Enhancement

This is a casual position with variable hours. Opportunities to work morning, split shifts, and full day shifts on an as-needed basis.

Responsibilities and Duties

• To plan and implement an age appropriate program indoors and outdoors meeting the requirements of “How Does Learning Happen” and the 4 foundations
• To create a professional and positive image for the Agency on a daily basis
• To have a working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and be in compliance with the Policies and Procedures of the Agency
• To work as a member of a team which includes other staff, parents, community and the Agency
• To share in the care and housekeeping tasks of the Centre
• To grow and improve in the knowledge and skills required for the job
• To create an inclusive environment where each child and family is valued

Skills and Qualifications

• Diploma in Early Childhood Education, if applicable
• Registered with the College of ECEs, if applicable
• Experience working with children JK to 12 years of age
• Recent Vulnerable Sector Check
• Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate
• Up to date immunizations including proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
• Familiar with "How Does Learning Happen?" would be an asset
• Strong programming and communications skills
• Strong knowledge of child development
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable interacting with and supporting families and community members
• Physically able to actively participate in the outdoor program in inclement weather
