Job Description

Cestar College is looking for a full-time Student Services Advisor to act in a counselling role to students. The incumbent will be critical in maintaining a positive student experience on campus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • The first point of contact for all students; maintain walk-in hours, appointment schedule and email account
  • Engage with students via online learning system and social media; prepare a student engagement plan for each semester
  • Communicate with staff and faculty on an ongoing basis on any changes that affect a student status
  • Work with the Academic Coordinator and Director on Academic counselling and discipline; including Academic Offences
  • Manage Graduation process for students, transmit information to Sarnia so a Graduation Audit can be completed
  • Manage Orientation process, support International Liaison Office in scheduling presentations and events, hiring ambassadors; create orientation schedule
  • Design specialized academic calendars per student academic requirements and course delivery/scheduling
  • Manage Student Council & Student Activities
  • Liaise with the International Department and Registrar’s department to ensure that processes are optimal

Required experience:

  • The successful candidate will possess at minimum a 2 year diploma in or a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Post-secondary experience (university, college or private career college experience): 3-5 years
