Canadian Blood Services is looking for a highly motivated Regular Full-Time Strategy Analyst to join our dynamic People, Culture and Performance division.
This exciting role will work with passionate senior leaders and the corporate strategy team to accomplish great things. The strategy analyst will be immersed in the strategies and reporting of this unique national healthcare organization that saves lives across Canada every day.
In this position you will look outwards and towards the future to collaborate with other blood operators throughout the world to share knowledge that can advance our work as Canada’s lifeline. You’ll be involved in setting up and operating a strategic foresight function that will ensure that Canadian Blood Services is prepared to adapt to the rapidly changing future.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting international collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Alliance of Blood Operators (ABO). Managing the development and maturation of the organization’s new strategic foresight function and supporting capabilities. Continuously improve our strategy management system, including the creation of the Quarterly Strategy Review Report and Quarterly Performance Report for the Board, as well as supporting other corporate performance initiatives to ensure alignment and consistency.
International collaboration:
Facilitate, track, and manage international knowledge exchange requests.- Support the creation of the annual ABO benchmarking report by working with internal stakeholders to facilitate data and commentary gathering and ensure accuracy of the final report.
- Ensure timely and relevant communications about Canadian Blood Services’ international collaboration efforts to leaders and all staff (e.g., newsletters, webinars, intranet articles, etc.).
Foresight function:
Support the development, management and maturation of the strategic foresight function and supporting capabilities.- Support the planning and execution of foresight projects, including establishing a standard framework to guide foresight projects.
- Collect, monitor, and aggregate key trends and developments that could impact Canadian Blood Services and meaningfully communicate this information to internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage the annual Canadian Blood Services horizon scan.
Strategy management:
Supports the creation of the Quarterly Strategy Review Report, Quarterly Performance Report for the Board, and other corporate performance initiatives to ensure that the strategy management system remains relevant and up-to-date.- Supports the management of ClearPoint (strategy management software) and various other reports as required.
- Works with internal stakeholders to provide timely content for strategic and operational reports for the Executive Business Review.
Education, training, and experience:
University degree in a relevant discipline. A Master’s degree is an asset.- A minimum of three years related experience
- Previous experience in strategy, planning, and/or foresight activities (e.g., horizon scanning).
- Previous experience in consulting, healthcare, food production, or pharmaceutical industries is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholders and influencing senior leaders to achieve a common goal.
- Proven high level verbal and written communication skills that allow you to deliver complex concepts clearly and effectively through documents, reports, presentations, and diagrams.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders that leverages our key values of integrity, collaboration, adaptability, respect and excellence
- Must be detail-oriented with a high sense of initiative, strong problem solving, critical thinking, and negotiating skills.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
