Our client is looking to add an Staff Accountant to the team!
Role: Staff Accountant
Salary: $70K/annually
Location: Midtown Toronto (Yonge and Eglington) - 100% in-office
HOURS: Mon-Fri 9AM - 5PM
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting and/or Finance Major is preferred)
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant
Experience working in a public accounting firm
Excellent English oral and written communication skills
Strong knowledge of accounting and tax software such as TaxPrep, Caseware and Caseview, TaxPrep Forms, Microsoft Office
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Start to finish working paper file preparation for compilation, review and small audit engagements
Assistance on larger audit engagements and tax assignments
Preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
Preparation of payroll and government related remittances and filings including, but not limited to, T4’s and T5’s, T3 returns, T2054, T2057
Correspond with the Canada Revenue Agency regarding installments, information requests and notices of assessment
Be able to identify, troubleshoot and investigate discrepancies which may arise in file preparation and discuss with appropriate parties
