The Role:
The Site Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of site activity, by managing and coordinating construction workers and trades, maintaining productivity and safety of projects.
As the Site Supervisor, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the low-rise project from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget.
- Assisting with developing the full construction schedule with the Project Manager.
- Obtaining the appropriate licenses from authorities for the construction sites.
- Determining the necessary equipment, materials, and manpower needed and ensure they are delivered according to the schedule.
- Ensuring that the site complies to the corporate health and safety program, Ontario health and safety regulations and building codes.
- Acts as a liaison between trades, sub-trades, project manager customer service, and consultants to ensure construction compliance with drawings and specifications
- Leads and directs subcontractors (trades) in a way so as not to impede the construction progress.
- Monitors work performance and productivity of trades to ensure project policies, procedures, and safety requirements are maintained
- Ensuring that the quality of the project is of the highest standards by conducting quality analysis & quality control during pre-construction and construction phase.
- Schedules and carries out all required municipal/utility inspections
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 7-10+ years of experience managing low-rise residential construction projects
- Strong working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and project management from start to finish
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Organized with the ability to prioritize responsibilities effectively
- Strong leadership skills and professionalism with the ability to multitask within a fast paced and dynamic workplace.
- Ability to identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
- Capable of anticipating construction issues in moderately complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule.
