Bbar Brunch Cafe, a new, vibrant, and upcoming lively Brunch Bar is currently hiring a SERVER to join our FOH team!
BBar Brunch Cafe is a casual, sophisticated, and vibrant venue, with a chef-inspired breakfast and lunch menu with a mix of flavours. Our food is familiar yet has a unique twist. The menu is globally inspired and locally sourced to the best of our ability.
The SERVER will play a key role in supporting the restaurant's vision for high-quality food and ensuring that it is delivered, with a hands-on approach where required, in a professional, safe and efficient manner.
As a Server, it is essential that you maintain an energetic, friendly and caring attitude at all times. It is your responsibility to see that each guest is made to feel special and enjoys their experience. Servers need to display great customer service skills and ensure overall customer satisfaction, food quality, cleanliness and sanitation.
Servers are the main point of contact for guests. They are knowledgeable in providing menu suggestions to customers and describing dishes. They deliver food and drinks to tables in a timely manner, oversee table maintenance, and monitor guests' satisfaction.

What you’ll be doing:
- Welcome and Engage with guests in conversation
- Actively listen and respond positively to guest questions, concerns, and requests.
- Address guests' service needs in a professional, positive, and timely manner.
- Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt service.
- Check-in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverage.
- Answer questions on menu selections.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver prior to use
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Follow appropriate procedures for serving alcoholic beverages (SMART SERVE)
- Complete closing duties, including storing all reusable goods, breaking down goods, cleaning all equipment and areas, returning equipment to proper locations, locking refrigerators, restocking items, turning off lights, locking doors, and completing daily cleaning checklist.
- Partner with and assist others to promote an environment of teamwork and achieve common goals.
- Follow company and department safety and security policies and procedures to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
What you’ll bring to the team:
- EXPERIENCE. You have at least one (1) year of FOH experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- EDUCATION/TRAINING. You’ve graduated with a relevant degree/diploma or it’s in process. It’s possible that school wasn’t your thing, but you’ve got the equivalent of a college education through a combination of education and experience.
- EMPATHY. You’re a humble individual with a good sense of humour. Someone who is kind, generous, helpful to others, and committed to winning strategy.
- PASSION. You have a genuine passion for food and a drive to create amazing experiences.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS. You demonstrate exceptional relationship-building and communication skills among your team members at the restaurant. You can handle challenging situations with your strong communication skills. Listen, Emthpaize, React, Resolve.
- ADAPTABILITY. You thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and can work weekends, holidays, and mornings as required.
Experience & Certification
- SMART SERVE certified (Asset)
- Food Handler Certification (Asset)
- +1 year serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment (Preferred)

Salary: $15.00-$18.34 per hour
