My client is a 100% employee-owned Canadian general contractor with over 40 successful years in the industry. They are a household name with an impressive portfolio of projects within the ICI and residential sectors.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
You will have the proven industry experience and knowledge to carry out various exciting projects from start to finish successfully, confidently showcase your leadership skills to lead and manage a team, the opportunity to provide sustainable growth and demonstrate your skills within one of Canada’s most proficient general contractors.
ABOUT THE POSITION
In this role you will need to have a thorough understanding of the full construction process, from pre-construction through to the completion of the project. You will be proficient in coordinating teams, exceptional time management skills, the ability to problem solve effectively and delegate tasks. It will be your responsibility to align a team of professionals to guarantee the best quality of work for the client in the timeframe given and on, or under budget. You will be required to:
- Oversee project budget, schedule, quality, and delivery of construction to the scope of work.
- Work with estimating and/or pre-construction departments to ensure effective communication relating to project scope.
- Understand the client’s project goals and act as a client liaison, providing high-level of customer service.
- Prepare construction schedules by studying plans; updating specifications; identifying and projecting efficiencies.
- Communicate with clients regarding schedule, budget, and change orders.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers with respect to change orders.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with trades.
- Maintain continuity among corporate, division, and local work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Report to the owner/president.
THE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience (ICI).
- Degree in Construction Management/Engineering or equivalent.
- Must have experience managing projects with a budget of $50 Million and up.
- Proven experience managing a team of at least 3.
- Proven experience using Microsoft office, including Excel and Projects and Primavera (P3 or P6), Suretrak, Procore and BIM Software.
- LEED Accredited and Gold Seal Certified is an asset.
COMPENSATION
- Salary range $120,000 to $160,000 depending upon experience.
- 2 weeks vacation.
- Profit sharing (5%-10%) based on performance
- RRSP Matching of 3% (after one year of employment)
- Full health and dental benefits.
