New employees must provide documentation of a 2-step TB screening, as well as proof of immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella (chickenpox) prior to their start date at St. Mary’s General Hospital. Staff will require clearance from Employee Health and Wellness before they are able to begin any position within SMGH.
Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the financial operations of St. Mary's General Hospital through the provision of financial and statistical analysis as well as strategic problem solving to both clinical and non-clinical teams.
Position Responsibilities:
Report Analysis
Preparing and analyzing reports, reconciliations, submissions for programs.
Preparing and analyzing periodic reports, including: analysis of hours, performance indicators and monthly financial statements.
Preparing budgets, quarterly & year end submissions and other reports as required.
Support
Assisting with the monthly financial statement preparation and annual audit process.
Providing integrated financial and statistical support for evidence-based decision making to Managers, Directors, Program Decision Makers, and other Senior levels within the Corporation.
Adapt communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with patients and their families, co-workers, physicians, volunteers and others within our health care community.

Effectively apply organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload, to problem solve, and to adapt to frequent interruptions and change.

Program Maintenance
Submitting MIS, HAPS, SRI for the full range of programs and services.
Ensuring data integrity and compliance with a variety of complex projects.
Updating Capital Asset Module – Purchases and Deferred Donations.
Performing other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Degree/Diploma in business and finance.
CPA designation completed or passed the CFE and completing the practical experience requirements
3-5 years’ experience in an analyst position
Knowledge of MOHLTC policies including HAPS & HSAA, MIS guidelines, CIHI requirements an asset
Advanced knowledge of Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Access.
Skill in data analysis and interpretation in database management.
Displays a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail while performing financial base research and implementations.
Self-motivated, strong problem solving skills, ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Proven success in prioritizing and completing multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Requirements:
MIS course Level 1 & 2.
Knowledge of Adaptive Insight planning and forecasting tool.
