Project Manager
Full-time, Permanent
Scarborough, Ontario (Hybrid)
The Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing of supply projects within the sites to achieve initiative goals. Key projects included (but not limited to) are: New Product Launches, Alternate Materials, Site Transfers, Technical Services and Pack Tech projects.
Project Planning
Development of project strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders, gaining agreement to the project plan and timelines, and managing the project to its successful completion, for all assigned projects.
Leads multiple groups within the sites to ensure strategic initiatives are executed accordingly to an agreed upon projected time line. Ensure that all projects flow efficiently from step to step, between departments, and are tracked accordingly.
Resolve any/all issues that may hinder the successful completion of the project. Escalation to senior management when risks are visible and require direction.
Interface with site technical, regulatory, planning, and commercial personnel to ensure proper prioritization of projects as to the defined project plan.
Provide effective project status to all appropriate personnel including on site team members, site management, and Global Supply Chain Operations.
Ensure that Materials Planning and/or MPS are established to support projects.
Manages the resources across the site Supply Chain Organization and to provide project leadership with input/oversight of priority setting for all key projects.
Promotes consistent project management practice across all projects. Identifies problems relating to project plans, timelines, and communicates remediation steps.
Reports/KPIs/Communication
Implements and enforces the use and accuracy of all tools to ensure projects are executed and reported accurately on all defined schedules.
Effectively develop and communicate project plans that include tasks and milestones
Gather and report key performance statistics for Internal and Global teams. Identify trends, determine improvements, variance analysis, initiate corrective actions and make recommendations for approval.
Implement and lead a monthly process review in line with NPIM format to include key project portfolios
Communicating and reporting on project status to senior management as well as Global by maintaining project summaries and report status through a monthly review meeting and S&OP process. Participate in the site S&OP meetings as required. Present the overall product management status and raise any significant delays or issues as they relate to the Product Management Group. Critical to communication is presentation of risk and mitigation plans including impact to product supply and customer service
Annual Operating Plan (AOP) – Run and compile all input data for project requirements for all categories. Review and confirm demand and submit for final review and approval. Participate in gap review meetings and provide comments for justification
Continuous Improvement
Provide input and ideas to new processes. Rollout new processes (project management related or dependent processes) and tools to Project Management team by working with other site functional groups and/or Global.
Lead and consolidate new ideas into structured, concrete improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and related experience. Preferred: PMP or APICS (CPIM, CIRM, or CSCP) designation or working towards completion of certification
- 5+ years of experience in project management of multiple complex projects with an understanding of regulatory and quality aspects of pharmaceuticals and supply chain. Preferred: Experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Material Management, Quality, and/or Regulatory, with increasing levels of responsibility in a pharmaceutical or other regulated environment.
- Computer skills especially with Project management software, Excel and ERP systems (SAP)
- Good understanding of project management, procurement, planning and supply chain processes.
- Develop and maintain a good knowledge of the materials/products in specific portfolio
- Good comprehension of markets behaviors and characteristics, in particular related to the pharmaceutical business.
- Strong knowledge of GMP and RA requirements within the manufacturing and packaging environments for pharmaceuticals
