We are ready to take this game to the next level and need a passionate Senior Accounting & Consolidations Analyst to be responsible for the day-to-day accounting, month-end and quarter end activities, financial statement preparation and audit working papers. Also responsible for supporting the integrity of the general ledger and ensuring sound principles of internal controls are maintained.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Director External Reporting & Technical Accounting, you will be empowered to:

Lead role in month-end and year-end general ledger closing process and ensuring accurate and timely completion of all activities. Analyze root cause of financial statement variances and apply professional judgment to determine need for variance explanation or escalation as required in adherence to OLG policies and procedures.

Lead role in consolidating monthly and annual financial statements.

Lead role in preparation of balance sheet variance analysis.

Lead role in the preparation of the monthly OLG financial statements while ensuring the integrity of the financial reporting systems and information and ensuring application of proper internal controls over financial reporting.

Lead role in the compilation and preparation of OLG’s journal entry data for monthly review and approval.

Prepare, review and analyze financial data for input to the Corporate General Ledger ensuring compliance with IFRS.

Assist in the development of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure accuracy of input into the Corporate General Ledger; ensuring adherence to sound principles of internal control including the Internal Control Framework and Ministry of Finance Memorandum of Understanding and other applicable Ministry directives

Responsible for the preparation/review of accurate and timely working papers and financial reports to enable the financial statement audit, collaborating with External Reporting team to ensure all deliverables are met. Responsible to work with external auditors throughout the audit processes ensuring auditor inquiries/requests are completed accurately and timely.

Participate as a subject matter expert on ad hoc projects, strategic initiatives by assisting in the development of business requirements, performing user acceptance testing as it pertains to the general ledger and related processes of the department

Support the annual review and updating of the process narratives/maps of key control activities within the department

Conduct analysis and month-end or quarterly reconciliation of significant account balances to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Support Controllership lines of business in respect to month end financial reporting activities as needed.

Support ongoing continuous improvement in all external reporting processes.

Support other internal and external audits as they arise from time to time.

Prepare information in response to requests from internal and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, Freedom of Information requests, requests from Government Relations and Communications and Ministry of Finance, Service Providers etc.
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
Work Experience: 3-5 years of progressive experience in accounting/auditing in a medium/large sized organization. Experience with IFRS is preferred.
Education: University degree in finance, accounting or business Professional accounting designation, CPA.
