Page Property Management is currently looking to add a full-time Security Officer to join our security team at the Bayers Road Centre in Halifax. The role will involve 8 hour shifts (40 hours/week) and will consist of evening and backshifts (consistent, regular schedule)

Responsibilities:

• Conduct foot patrols on the premises, checking for and acting to resolve any suspicious activity;
• Respond to emergency situations including power outages, fire alarms, etc. Respond to emergency requests from tenants and provide proper response (police, fire, ambulance) and provide a copy of a completed Incident Report to the Property Manager;
• Respond to specific security issues (shoplifting, disruptive behaviour) and provide proper response and a written Incident Report to the Property Manager;
• Program access cards, as requested, and deliver to tenant;
• Provide pick-up and delivery to the tenants, as requested;
• Monitor parking areas and issue parking tickets as required under the guidelines set by the Property Manager;
• Provide a positive image for Page Property Management with the tenants
• Work with the Property Manager to assist with tenant issues, particularly after hours, as required.

Education & Experience:

• Previous experience working in a security position not required, but would be a strong asset;
• Relevant post-secondary education (corrections; police foundations, etc.) would be an asset, but not required.
