The Right at Home Durham office is currently looking for RNs and RPNs in the Scarborough/ North York area to join our team and assist with our family & child nursing clients in the community. We have specific client needs below:

• Weekend help on days at 2 locations in Scarborough. (Birchmount/Eglinton & Markham Rd/Eglinton)
• Mondays and Wednesday days or evenings. (Markham Rd/Eglinton)
• Also trach nurse in Scarborough on Tuesdays and Thursdays (0900-1700) and weekends (day or night). (Pharmacy/McNicoll)

For this role you will need:

- Current nursing license, registered with CNO with no practice restrictions

- Valid class G driver's license and vehicle

- Availability every other weekend

- Proof of up-to-date immunizations, including 2 COVID Vaccinations

- Valid VSS Police check (within 6 months)

- 2 Step TB test (within 1 year)

- Mask-fit size (within 2 years - can also be fitted by RAH)

- CPR level C (within 1 year)

Experience:

• Various clinical experience- hospital & community
• Experience in IV infusion and subcutaneous injections
• Must be comfortable in using technology for charting and training
• Strong comprehension and assessment skills
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Professional, attention to detail and reliable
• Willing to travel up to 50 km to clients
• CVAA certification an asset
• Child & Family Nursing Care experience an asset
• G-Tube feed & Trach care experience preferred

Regular Assignments/ Potential Responsibilities:

• Performs task delegations and training as required to unregulated providers to support client care such as: catheter care, suppositories, applying non-sterile dressing and implementing exercise and mobilization routines as per regulatory standards and guidelines
• Administers medication to clients and provides medication reminders in accordance with established policy and delegation
• Performs Nursing Assessments as required
• Observes clients and their environments, and reports unsafe conditions and behavioral, physical, and/or cognitive changes to supervisor
• Demonstrates methods and provides basic information to clients in relation to activities of daily living in accordance with pre-established care plans
• Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as communication books and progress reports
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Participates in continuing education
• Attends RAH in-services, including Nursing related meetings
• Attends Client conferencing meetings
• May participate in RAH community events when requested, upon mutual agreement
