RPN or RN Job at Highview Residences London
Highview Residences is a retirement residence, which offers specialized care to persons with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementia. The ideal candidate for the Registered Nursing position will be a positive, creative, flexible person who puts the needs of the residents first. Reporting to the Care Coordinator of Highview or their delegate, the RN/RPN provide personal care to the residents of Highview with compassion and excellence, meeting the physical, social, spiritual and emotional needs of these residents. The RN/RPN will work with cooperation and kindness with the other members of the care team, while supervising the PSW staff.
Primary Responsibilities
- Personal care for elderly persons with dementia, including bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding, making breakfasts and snacks, laundry, housekeeping, cueing, redirecting, mental stimulation, etc
- Attend all Highview training and associate meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Medication Administration and Medical Assessments of residents
Qualifications:
- Registration with the College of Nurses in good standing
- A minimum of 1 year experience working with the population served
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- An understanding of the needs and realities of the elderly, including matters of mobility and communication, such as Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementia
- Have a current vulnerable persons check
- Safe food handlers certificate, CPR, First Aid, and GPA
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to adapt to frequently changing and challenging situations
