Research Assistant, Psychiatry Job at The University of Calgary
Position Overview
The Department of Psychiatry in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 12 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Principal Investigator.
Work hours may vary when required to reach changing deadlines, workloads and priorities in a dynamic research environment.
These are Recurring Part-time Position. Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular basis.
Position Description
Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Recruitment of patients including phone screening for eligibility
- Scheduling patients visit
- Administration of transcranial magnetic stimulation to patients (successful candidate will be trained in TMS)
- Data entry/ Archives of data
- Data entry and filing
- Storage of records
- Maintain optimal data recording practices
- Data processing, data capturing and data entry into an established computer database
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Administrative duties including; organizing and filing of confidential study records
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High School Diploma required
- Post-secondary degree would be an asset
- One year of related experience
- At least 3 months of research experience
- Demonstrated skills in data entry
- Experience working in a health care setting an asset
- Maintains confidentiality of patient information and medical records
- Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office suite, email and internet programs
- Strong and effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written
- Will be required to work flexible hours
