Kennebec Manor in Millidgeville, Saint John has positions for two permanent Registered Nurses.

• Permanent Full Time night position (1.0) and
• Permanent Par Time night position (0.4)

This rotation may change in the future as per the needs of the Manor and may include other shifts as well.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Charge Nurse shall be committed to supporting implementation of the “Eden Alternative” by surrendering institutional routines and creating a habitat for living based on Kings Way Life Care Alliance organization vision, mission and values as well as the “Eden Alternative”.

The Charge Nurse shall assist in managing all aspects of the Neighbourhoods. The Charge Nurse shall oversee resident care with the aim of alleviating the three plagues of loneliness, helplessness and boredom based on the Kings Way Life Care Alliance organization vision, mission and values as well as the “Eden Alternative”. Provides leadership to staff within the facility; provides and oversees care.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Baccalaureate in Nursing or graduation from an approved School of Nursing.

Registered and in good standing with provincial licensing body (NANB)

Possesses initiative and good judgment

Previous Management experience an asset

Demonstrated Leadership skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Visionary, adaptive and innovative

Ability to communicate effectively in a leadership role

Sound decision making abilities and critical thinking skills

Physically able to perform assigned duties

Respects confidentiality and privacy

Good previous work and attendance record

Experience in geriatric nursing preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $41.40-$46.36 per hour
