Project Manager/On-site Owner’s Representative Job at Evolugen
Evolugen is seeking a Project Manager/On-site Owner’s Rep to plan and manage all aspects of renewable energy projects from the late stages of development, through construction and handover to operations. The Project Manager will play a key role as part of the project execution team and will be required to be on the Construction site (in Cardston County, AB for most of the time between approximately May 2023 and February 2024.
The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in renewable energy projects, and particularly in solar projects.
Key Responsibilities:
For the execution (E, P and C) of the solar project, the Project Manager will:
· Be the Owner’s representative on site for the duration of the construction of the Project, from approximately May 2023 to February 2024.
· Perform project management, technical and contractual activities to ensure the facility is built in compliance with all contractual specifications, codes and standards requirements, best industry practices, while meeting schedule and budget obligations.
· Ensure Health & Safety and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) requirements by Owner are met.
· Monitor, review and control project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Following the execution of the solar project, the Project Manager may either move to an office role as Project Manager and/or Developer for new renewable energy projects and/or a new on-site Owner’s Rep role, depending on opportunities at the time and preference of employee. The role may include:
· Directing and managing project teams including direct staff, consultants, contractors and other third parties.
· Overseeing and managing contract procurement, negotiations, and all commercial aspects of projects.
· Liaising with owner’s engineer and site representatives to ensure project delivery with a high regard for safety, quality, and the environment.
· Coaching and mentoring project team members and ensuring continual career and growth opportunities for all employees.
· Building, developing, and growing industry relationships.
· Liaising with the Development and Operations teams to ensure successful interfaces between the Development, Execution and Operation phases.
· Effectively managing change and conflicts as they arise on projects.
· Defining project scopes, goals and deliverables that support business goals.
· Collaborating with senior management and key stakeholders.
· Traveling for project meetings with contractors, stakeholders, utilities and permitting agencies, as required.
· Performing other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree: engineering, science or construction management preferred. Alternate combination of suitable education and work experience will be considered.
· Minimum 5 years of renewable energy experience in the Canadian marketplace is preferred.
· Minimum 5 years project management experience on construction projects with budgets of at least $10 million, with a track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
· Demonstrated project management capabilities (budgeting, scheduling, reporting, etc). PMP or other project management credentials considered an asset.
· Proven track record of stakeholder engagement (utilities, landowners, First Nations, members of the public).
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively lead a team.
· Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated work-ethic and willingness to learn.
