Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Project Coordinator supports the coordination, implementation, and execution of projects within action item timelines and provides policy and administrative support for the following Standing Committees:

· Active Transportation & Public Transit

· Community Services Master Plan & Waterfront Strategy

· Environment & Climate Change

This position will coordinate all aspects of assigned projects including, but not limited to, leading cross-functional work teams, consulting with internal and external partners and tracking timelines and project deliverables on an on-going basis to provide feedback on accomplishments and to ensure immediate action is taken to address shortfalls. This includes anticipating, identifying, researching and managing issues and challenges to provide support for informed decision making. Working closely with internal resources will provide website and social media updating as well as media and news releases.

This position will prepare, distribute, publish, and coordinate meeting agendas, resolutions and minutes for all standing committees as well as prepare related materials and attend events and community consultation/information sessions. This also includes the booking of facilities, event space and (as required) the coordination of other services.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree or college equivalent in a field related to the functional expertise requirements where the Project Coordinator will work and a minimum of three years of directly related project management experience. A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation would be considered an asset. Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of personality types coupled with a strong political acuity is required. Expertise and excellence in both written and verbal communication are also required. The successful applicant must be proficient in the use of MS Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint and Word, and able to learn the use of additional software applications in-use by the Town. A valid G-class driver’s license and access to reliable transportation is also required.

The 2023 salary range for this position is $69,888.00 to $77,040.60 based on a 35-hour work week which will include some evenings and weekends as it pertains to the operational needs of the position. This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule by working remote and in-office based on operational needs.
