We are currently looking for a Production Planner. You will be working in a team and will be reporting to the Supply Chain Manager.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage Sales & Operations planning - bridging the needs of Production and Sales.
  • Calculate requirements for all materials and finished products according to the MRP demands and sales forecast and present to the Owner for approval. Once approved, communicate with Receiving Co-ordinator volume of raw materials that is required and provide delivery dates that product needs to be delivered.
  • Arrange outside storage requirements – if needed.
  • Maintain adequate stock levels and where possible, look for opportunities to reduce costs and/or improve quality and service levels.
  • Calculate weekly and monthly actuals vs. forecast and adjust accordingly requirement of raw material and production orders.
  • Communicate proactively with management regarding price trends, quality, supply, material and service.
  • Ensuring the continuous supply of competitively priced quality products.
  • Assist in assessing the capabilities of vendors, evaluating vendor performances, and developing alternate sources.
  • Monitor storage and processing capacity – monthly and annually.
  • Maintain and communicate contract information (quantity, balances, timing, and pricing) for categories as assigned – materials, finished products and services.
  • Monitor ERP – identify handling discrepancy, provide feedback, and provide assistance to correct.
  • Reconcile and maintain accurate inventory numbers for all packaging material.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of packaging material in the system vs. actual
  • Plan production orders weekly and adjust if required.
  • Close all production orders within 2 days of completion.
  • Monitor production status and provide report to Plant Manager and Supply Chain Manager.
  • Labour costing – provide support.
  • Based on the forecast co-ordinate with production to achieve appropriate levels.
  • Lead, organize and conduct cycle and periodic physical counts, perform system adjustment if necessary.
  • Provide support during traceability exercise.
  • Work closely with sales, service, quality control and production teams to coordinate effective flow of order related information
  • Performs other duties, tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced in logistics/supply chain/production planning
  • Proficient with MS Office – especially Excel
  • Microsoft Dynamics experience required
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Capable to organize, plan and execute tasks reliably and independently
  • Experience in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment

  • Strong understanding of market dynamics and customer relationship management
