The Product Launch Manager plays a critical and central role at Cosmetica in ensuring successful execution of projects and timely launches of products in the market for our customers. In this role you will manage stakeholder engagement and cross functional collaboration between the R&I, Product Development, Packaging Development, Procurement, Technical Resource Group and Quality departments.

Key Accountabilities:
New Product Development
- Driving the complete new product development cycle using our Stage Gate System, starting with discovery, development, testing and validation, launch, and post launch review through collaboration with external partners and internal stakeholders
- Developing project scope ensuring all critical parameters are captured and aligned with the client.
- Guide the project team to meet the target costs, timelines and product attributes to support project conversion.
- Developing project plans that cover scope, time, cost, resources, communication, acquisitions, quality, risk management, stakeholders’ management and integration.
- Plan, execute and manage all new product projects and launches initiated by sales and allocated through the Manager, Project Launch Group.
- Produce and maintain accurate data and records related to the projects. Client and Stakeholder Management
- Responsible to ensure that effective and efficient communication is established and maintained between the client and all internal CLI groups keeping the project on the agreed timeline.
- Support CLI operations in providing excellent customer service.
- Ensure proper tracking and maintenance of accurate records on all transactions with clients, documenting any changes.
- Coordinate efforts with client, and internal CLI groups acting as a funnel of information to maintain the accuracy of the Bill of Materials.
Other
- Spearhead team meetings (cross functional) ensuring projects remain on the agreed and communicated timelines
- Identify any possible issues or opportunities to improve efficiencies and minimize costs.
- Support / manage execution of relevant plans to exploit the business opportunities
- Secure all approvals and signoffs from clients, manage / coordinate with relevant CLI stakeholders
- Propose continuous process improvement capabilities and opportunities
Skills, Experience and Education Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cosmetic Science, Engineering, Business Administration/Commerce or similar
- Minimum 3-5 years’ project management experience (non-technical project management)
- Minimum 2+ years’ work experience in product development within the cosmetics, personal care manufacturing, and/or consumer packaged goods (CPG) manufacturing industry
- Proficient with Stage Gate System
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication, project management and time management skills
- Ability to drive and manage client and stakeholder expectations
- Ability to build strong collaborative working relationships with cross functional teams
- Superior organizational skills with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent English communications skills (verbal and written)
- Resourceful and solution oriented
- A solid understanding of manufacturing processes in cosmetic/personal care, or related consumer goods industry
Nice to Have(s):
- Product development work experience in the cosmetics manufacturing industry
- Data analytics experience and/or training
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation
- Proficiency in MS Project
Other job information:
- This position is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week based out of Cosmetica's head office, located at 1960 Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough, Ontario.
