Procurement Project Manager Job at VetStrategy
The Role
Reporting to the National Manager, Indirect Spend, the Procurement Project Manager will be responsible for establishing project performance management practices and evaluating project success.
In this newly created role, the successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day management of local vendors, support the organization’s procurement strategy, source vendors per company direction while managing and project delivery timelines and results
Responsibilities
- Ensure localized procurement is in line with VetStrategy standards
- Support account creation and maintain hospital accounts to align with VetStrategy’s preferred vendor partners Indirect Spend)
- Identify opportunities across VetStrategy Hospitals
- Correspond with assigned Vendor Partners to optimize service levels and increase use of preferred vendors
- Monitor purchasing compliance and provide support to Field Operations and Hospital Teams to drive purchasing behaviours towards preferred vendors
- Source potential vendor partners, create business case, and support RFQ process in order to establish vendor partnerships that address service needs
- Create communications to inform of new vendor partnerships and maintain current information across preferred vendors (indirect spend)
- Partner with Operations, Commercial Advisory and other Home Office Teams to align procurement goals with department strategies
- Liase with vendors to provide feedback, obtain forecasts, ensure adequate service levels meet standards, and address service concerns in order to support hospitals
- Work closely with a network of stakeholders; clinics, business units and vendors to deploy VetStrategy solutions
- Support Field Operations and Hospital Teams to resolve vendor concerns that require escalated support
- Ensure performance reporting is created, made available to stakeholders, and is used to create plans of action to yield desired results
- Escalate project issues to key stakeholders and senior leadership team
- Other duties as assigned
Background, Experience and Qualifications
- University degree or equivalent experience
- Prior Vendor Manager and/or Project Management related degree or would be considered an asset
- Prior experience with building Business Cases and Proposals
- Superior customer service experience
- Solid understanding of Veterinary supplies and services
- Previous experience successfully interfacing with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve shared project goals
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities from various stakeholders
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills over the phone, in person, and through email
- Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and solve problems
- Ability to multi task daily projects and commitments and the ability to work independently
- Highly motivated, action-oriented, and results driven with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Extremely high-energy, tenacious, and lots of ‘hustle’
- Collaborative, and comfortable in a team-oriented environment
- Working knowledge of Microsoft technologies
- Comfortable working in a pet friendly environment
