The City of Penticton is looking to fill the seasonal position of Parks Maintenance I (Laborer) in our Parks Department. The Parks branch of Public Works is responsible for the development, operation and maintenance of the parks, beaches, sports fields, trails and cemeteries within our community.

Reporting to the Parks Supervisor, the Parks Maintenance I (Laborer) will perform tasks such as general maintenance, cleaning and general labour assistance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Turf mowing.
• Litter pickup and collection.
• Weeding garden beds.
• Move park furniture, picnic tables, litter cans etc.
• Assist with setup and tear down of special events.

Required Qualifications:

• Completion of Secondary School.
• Valid B.C. Driver's License.
• Experience in general maintenance including but not limited to cleaning, painting and litter/garbage pickup.
• Experience in general construction and light equipment operation.
• Knowledge of safe work practices related to equipment, tools and work procedures.
• Good physical condition with sufficient strength and stamina to perform heavy manual work outside in the presence of all types of weather conditions.
