Now accepting resume for a part-time JANITOR for our Giant Mine location in Yellowknife, NT.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Janitors will report to the Mine Maintenance Department and will assist in the delivery of janitorial services to the "C' Dry Administrative Building and other areas as required. The incumbents will operate a variety of equipment and must be in good physical condition.
JOB DUTIES
- Maintenance of building in clean and orderly condition
- Maintenance of DCNJV property and support for project work.
- Use of equipment appropriately and with due care
- Utilize the safeguards, safety appliances and personal protective equipment or devices
- Report to Shift Supervisor any injury, accident, near miss or equipment damage.
- Ensure that the job site is safe, free of hazards and or dangerous conditions prior to commencing any work.
- Work in compliance with DCNJV's and the Client's Policies and Procedures.
- Compliance with all Health and Safety requirements
- Performs all duties assigned to him or her by the Supervisor.
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting of up to 25 kg (44 lbs) and sweeping or mopping floors
- Ability to work independently and with minimum of supervision
- Operation of mechanical floor cleaner
- Core values in workplace safety
- Current NWT driver's license
Type: Part time (Wednesday through Sunday), up to 28 hours per week.
Hours of work: 3pm-7pm, and additional hours as available during weekdays ( hours may be flexible to accommodate)
