POSTING – I.T. Technician – Summer Student
School District No 67 (Okanagan Skaha) is looking for an IT Technician - Summer Student in the Information Technology Department based out of our Penticton Board Office. This will be a full-time (40hrs/week) temporary position from the start of May 2023 until the end of August 2023. Rate of pay will be $25.54/hour.
Job Description
The IT Technician – Summer Student under the direction of the Director, Information Technology will provide technical service support, installation, configuration, and problem resolution services. Duties will include but are not limited to:
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PCs, Chromebooks, printers, projectors, network devices, and peripherals
Installing and supporting standard software
Installing and supporting Cisco VOIP handsets
General assistance in IT Operations and User Support
About You
You are enrolled in a post-secondary program in IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related discipline. You will be returning to school in September 2023 to continue your studies. You have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11, networking fundamentals, and desktop/laptop hardware installations. You are familiar with voice over IP concepts and helpdesk ticketing systems.
Other Qualifications
Strong communication skills – written and verbal
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Well-developed problem-solving skills
Able to lift, carry, crouch, kneel while doing desktop computer setups and support
Ability to maintain the confidential nature of the position
Demonstrate excellent customer service and customer interaction
