Role Summary

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for ensuring the HR processes run smoothly while prioritizing business goals, employee retention, and employment law. They are responsible for handling the logistics of employee management, which involves working closely with the senior management team to determine budgets, appropriate salaries, benefits, and more. The HR Manager coordinates with the leadership team to ensure the HR processes are aligned with management and business goals. The ideal candidate is a team player who leverages their interpersonal skills to maintain professional relationships amongst individuals from all levels of the company.


Responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization's human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Maintains the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintains organization staff by establishing a recruiting, testing, and interviewing program; counseling managers on candidate selection; conducting and analyzing exit interviews; recommending changes.
  • Prepares employees for assignments by establishing and conducting orientation and training programs.
  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach employees.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and province requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records.
  • Maintains management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
  • Maintains human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  • Maintains human resource staff job results by counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR leadership role
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience in educating and coaching staff.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy.
  • In-depth understanding of sourcing tools like resume databases and online communities
  • Familiarity with proactive social media recruitment
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrates high level of emotional Intelligence
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills
