Highest Level Skills Coach - Development Program LEAD Instructor
Intermediate Level Skills Coach - Support Lead Instructor
Learn to Play - Lead and Support Instructors
Development Program "Lead" Skills Instructor - Lead Skills Coach will be assigned 2-8 weekly development sessions at various rinks around Calgary (Westside, Stu Peppad and FCA) and Cochrane to work with players ages 6-16. Lead Skills Instructor will work under a Director of Hockey Opertations to execute a practice plan, maintaining the P3 training philosophy and meeting association development expectations. All sessions take place on weeknights between 4:30pm-8:30pm. Lead Coaches will receive at minimum 2 hours of back to back sessions. Hourly pay is between $50-75 per session.
"Support" Lead Instructor- The Support Lead role works closely with the Lead Skills Coach will also be assigned 2-8 weekly development sessions in Calgary (Westside, Stu Peppad and FCA) and Cochrane to work with players aged 6-16. Support Skills Instructor will work under the P3 Director of Hockey Opertations. P3 has developed plans for all sessions, the Support Lead Instructor will work closely with the LEAD Instructor on Warmup, Flow and Station development. All sessions take place on weeknights between 4:30pm-8:30pm. Support Lead Instructor will receive at minimum 2 hours of back to back sessions. Hourly pay is between $25-45 per session.
Who Is Ideal for "Lead and Support" Skills Coach roles?
This role is ideal for someone with a strong hockey background who is currently enrolled in post-secondary school or with a flexible part-time job. Candidate will fully understand that hockey must be fun and combine the perspective of teaching while enjoying is the pathway to success. Candidates should engage with athletes and build relationships with players and parents.
Learn to Play (Lead and Support) Instructors
- Create a welcoming environment for all participants
- Teach basic skating /hockey skills in a small group setting
- Communicate with other coaches and the on-ice facilitator
- Create an inclusive environment on ice
- Provide a fun, engaging and positive atmosphere for the young players
This program runs at Spray Lakes in Cochrane with players ages 4-7. All sessions take place on weekdays lunch times. Lead Hourly pay is between $25-40 per session. Support Instructors pay is between $25-30.
P3 Skills Coach Characteristics:
- Energy is what makes our staff so special. You must be energetic and charismatic.
- Must be self-motivated, professional and reliable
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (ability to talk to parents)
- Must engage athletes and execute on-ice instruction - constantly
- Previous experience coaching or playing hockey is a must
Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Part-time hours: 2-15 per week
Salary: $25.00-$75.00 per hour
