We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Gameplay Animator. In this position, you will be partnering with a talented team of animators to create high quality gameplay features. You will be reporting directly to the Gameplay Animation Leads to ensure that quality and execution of these features is consistent and aligned with the overall vision for the game.

Typical Day in the Role:

• Collaborate with the Animation Director, Animation Leads and Designers to implement exciting new gameplay experiences.
• Partner with Animation Engineers and Technical Animators to help integrate necessary animation assets using UE5 and other proprietary tools, pipelines, and technical systems.
• Actively participate in review sessions and help the team raise the quality bar for the Animation at The Coalition.
• Attend and help define the requirements for internal/external motion capture shoots.
• Partner with Production to update/track necessary animation tasks through deliverables and scheduling tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

This is specifically for gameplay animation, there are animators who do both gameplay and cinematics but want to stay away from animators who just do TV/Film or just cinematics. They work really hands on with the animation leads, designers, and tech artists. They will be collaborating and help design content with the team so communication is a big piece. They partner with production as well as a big part of their role since they tack all their tasks closely they should be responsible and handle deliverables. They should organized and ideally have experience in Jira/Confluence (any tracking software is good). Being able to be proactive and look for help and take on tasks.

They have a small set of requirements, 1 year at least of gameplay animation, should have experience in keyframe and motion capture would be highly preferred since they do both extensively. They find that candidates have either done one or the other it would be ideal to find someone with experience with both. Body mechanics and understanding of animation would be ideal. Through the phone screens they want to find that they are self motivated problem solver, and team player.

They will be reviewing reels before requesting screens

They use Unreal 5 so using unreal for animation in a previous role is a huge bonus. \

They work with 2 animation software packages (maya and motion builder) if they have experience in key frame and motion capture then they should have used both of those animators. Anyone with AAA and high level game production experience would be ideal.
