Responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the plant foaming process. This includes all areas of the foam chemistry, foam distribution and process optimization, trouble shooting of electrical, mechanical, and tooling functions which directly affect quality, scrap, rework and downtime. Performing regular maintenance routines as well as equipment repairs as needed.

• Understand the importance of critical process variables, including chemical stream mixing pressures, temperatures, tooling temperatures, seal-off and venting conditions.
• Be able to establish foam shot size, index and flow rates to optimize foam physical characteristics, product quality, while maintaining efficiencies.
• Be able to develop robot pour programs patterns for effective foam distribution.
• Understand the foam reactivity profile of a given system which includes Cream Time, Gel Time, End of Rise, Top of Cup.
• Analyze and trouble-shoot issues related to foam parts and equipment.
• Submit daily shift notes that identify critical events that effected hitting
• Read shift and scrap reports and resolve any issues within reports.
• Able to change pumps, mixheads and other key process equipment related to the foaming line.
• Maintain and understand the importance of critical process variables, including chemical stream mixing pressures, temperatures, tooling temperatures, seal-off and venting conditions, vacuum and internal mold pressures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of departments, in order to achieve desired goals and objectives set forth my management.
• Ensure that all Company safety procedures are strictly adhered to at all times.
• Ensure that employees work in a safe manner and that all workers work safely.
• Understanding the basis of formulation changes (Index, Ratio), and how it correlates to I.F.D.(Indentation Force Deflection) results.
• Understanding of the basic function of a mixhead and how mix quality can be optimized through mixhead vernier adjustments, orifice sizing, pressures and flow rate.
• Involved in managing, scheduling and direction of the mechanical, electrical and mold maintenance personnel for each plant and the foam equipment.
• Scheduling of work assignments, facility and equipment maintenance, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Develop preventative maintenance plans for foam equipment.
• Responsible to ensure that work assigned is sufficient to ensure efficient utilization of available man hours is achieved on a daily basis of all personnel.
• Work on continuous improvement projects.
