Sister Sophie Ltd. is an academic education company with 13 years’ experience which has served more than 1100 students. Sister Sophie is based in the Greater Toronto Area with two campuses, one for the York region and another for Toronto. We advocate liberal arts thinking and currently provide literacy and literature programs to more than 300 students in both Canada and China. We also integrate higher education sources in Ontario in order to improve our students’ English language accuracy, critical thinking and overall abilities for effective participation in Canadian society.

Our history is one of academic success, particularly with respect to our students achievement in reading, writing and their understanding of literature, which we believe is key to their overall learning ability.

We have created a friendly community among our students, parents and teachers. Most students who join us have stayed with us throughout their schooling. An increasing number of students are joining us everyday.

Job Duty:

Sister Sophie Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic English instructor. You will be teaching English for all grades in 1 v 1 or small group settings at our tutoring center (Remotely during COVID). We will provide lesson plans and teaching materials.
-Independently design / create English programs for the following subjects/courses:
-Reading Club, and Essay Writing
-Train other teachers in academic development and teaching skills
- Improve /prepare lesson plans
- Teaching/tutoring, including marking homework
- Communicate with parents/students if necessary

Current Teaching Area

[Literature]

· Spectrum (Grade 1-3)
· Reading Club (Grade 5-8)
· 1 on 1 tutoring (K12)

[Literacy]
· Essay Writing

Qualification

PHD or Master required (English Literature Major preferred)

One year teaching experience

Major in English Literature, English Language Art, Education or relevant majors is a must

Teaching experience in elementary schools and IELTS is a plus

Personal computer with camera

High speed internet connection

Quiet, clutter-free, well-lit teaching environment

Must be willing to work Eastern Time
