Industrial Electrician – Surrey, BC

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time.
Salary: $41 p/h
Shifts: Tuesday to Saturday 6 am - 2.30 pm

Requirements:
- Red Seal Electrician
- Minimum two years experience with process instrumentation – pressure/temperature/flow transmitters
- Minimum two years experience with actuated valves/louvers with position feedback and AC Motors (testing, disconnecting/reconnecting, setting of overloads)
- Fire alarm systems experience
- Intermediate understanding of PLC hardware – I/O cards, CPU modules, Fuse modules
- Ability to read and interpret P&ID, electrical schematics, mechanical schematics, and architectural prints
- Proficiency in current National Code Standards and Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude and flexibility to cover some basic mechanical work
- A valid driver’s license
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and current site materials lists.
- Take initiative to move ahead with maintenance tasks and assist with scheduling and planning tasks as needed
- Assist in mechanical and electrical plant upgrades
- Assist and provide solutions with site electrical and mechanical breakdowns, diagnoses, and emergency repairs; providing safe temporary solutions adhering to code that enable continued operations
- Be available for planned maintenance shutdown periods
- Learn and use advanced knowledge in SCADA that is relevant to the operation of the facility
- Provide field-level feedback, investigations, documentation, and updates on electrical items, revisions, and/or special temporary solutions as considerations may be needed.
- Provide site-wide support for the projects department or other trades upon their arrival to the site as needed and necessitated. Such duties will include electrical lockouts, isolations, facility connections, and other forms of support
- Be available to take on-call rotation or standby for weekends
- Other duties as required
