Document Specialist 2+ Years, London or Toronto (Hybrid) Job at Lerners LLP

Lerners is seeking a Document Specialist to support the firm’s Ontario offices. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of experience working in a similar position. The primary duty is to provide document support firm wide, including everything from transcription to managing support requests. This is a full-time opportunity and a day shift with core work hours of Monday to Friday from 8:00am-4:00pm. This is a Hybrid position and requires a minimum of 2 days in office or as required.
Primary Responsibilities:
- providing firm-wide document support
- creating various legal and other documents through copy typing, transcription scanning, or other methods
- proofreading and checking documents for appropriate formatting, spelling, and grammar
- converting styles, performing mails merges, inserting media into presentations, creating tables, working with graphs and objects
- correcting document corruption, document version comparisons, and checking for accurate revisions
- responding promptly to requests, meeting deadlines, and working on ad hoc requests from various departments
- managing the intake process of all document production requests and document support requests which include prioritizing and coordinating work for completion
- applying word processing expertise to be able to work on complex legal and other documents
- other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- advanced technical skills in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word
- ability to troubleshoot issues within documents
- prior experience working with large legal documents
- previous work as a legal assistant or law clerk would be considered an asset
- dictation and transcription experience would be considered an asset
